Cambridge International High School Curriculum A-Level (2 years)

The syllabus, curriculum and examination of A-Level curriculum system are designed and organized by four major British examination bureaus: Cambridge (CAIE), OCR, Oxford (AQA) and Edexcel. There are currently three UK examination bureaus entering China (all of which have been authorized by Meilun International), namely Cambridge (authorization code: CN440); Oxford (authorization code: 90517); Edexcel (authorization code: 96090). Therefore, all American students can complete the internationally recognized A-Level exam on campus.

The A-level education system is two years, with the first year being AS and the second year being A2:

  • AS:Choose 3-4 courses that you are best at and most interested in, and obtain an AS certificate after passing the exam.
  • A2:Choose the top 3 courses in the AS stage to continue learning and obtain an A-level certificate after passing the exam.

The advantages of choosing A-level courses are also very prominent:

  • Enhancing strengths and avoiding weaknesses: By avoiding weak subjects, leaning towards subjects has become an advantage
  • Over a year of exams: held from May to June and from October to November each year, with results announced in August and February of the following year, respectively
  • Flexible approach: You can choose to take a phased test or apply for all the courses you study at once. Each course has multiple exam opportunities, and you only need to submit your best score once when applying to a university
  • High recognition: The A-level course certificate is used by almost all universities that teach English (including popular study abroad countries and regions such as Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, etc.) as the admission standard for new students

At present, there are many A-level courses starting in Meilun, and students can choose 3-4 courses to continue their studies based on their future career plans and interests, combined with their areas of expertise and IGCSE grades. The following are the subjects offered at A-level.
