This afternoon, Former Member of UEFA Executive Committee, Former President of the Croatian Football Federation, FIFA TOP 100 Legend Player and 1998 World Cup Golden Boot winner Davor Šuker visited MIC (Majestic International College), engaging in a dialogue with students about football, dreams, and personal growth. After touring the campus and sharing insights from his professional career, he joined the students in the sports hall for a friendly football match, where brilliant passes and goals ignited the atmosphere to its peak.
“If you dream and work hard, nothing is impossible,” Šuker shared in the academic lecture hall. He emphasized that sports are not just about competition but also a form of education—shaping character and honing team spirit. This deeply resonates with MIC’s philosophy of "holistic education."

During his visit, Šuker not only explored MIC’s modern campus facilities but also engaged in heartfelt conversations with students in the academic lecture hall, sharing the highs and lows of his football journey. He spoke about the dreams and perseverance of his youth, stating, “When you’re young, you must dare to dream—I dreamed of becoming the best tomorrow, the best in university, the best in matches… that’s natural. But you must also stand alongside your parents, teachers, professors, and teammates.” He encouraged students to maintain discipline and belief while pursuing their dreams.
Šuker also reflected on his unforgettable experience of winning the Golden Boot in the 1998 World Cup, noting, “Watching videos might make scoring goals seem easy, but it’s not. It all started when I was eight—training every day, playing every day, striving every day.” He urged students to cherish their youth, invest in education, and focus on training.

During the interactive session, when a student asked, “How would you describe the feeling at the moment you scored a goal?” he sincerely replied, “It’s hard to explain with words—you need to be there yourself, feeling the roar of thousands of people. That feeling… you have to experience it to understand.” Such genuine sharing allowed students to deeply appreciate the dedication and perseverance behind the glory of top athletes. This is precisely the reason of MIC’s initiative to invite sports celebrities: to let students experience the essence of sports spirit through face-to-face interactions with role models, transforming momentary inspiration into lasting motivation.

Additionally, he shared his experiences of transcending cultural boundaries: “I speak Spanish, German, English, and a little Chinese…” In his view, language is not just a tool for communication but also a gateway to the world. He encouraged students to stay curious, dare to explore, and find their place on a broader stage.
The most exciting part for the students was when Šuker personally took to the field to demonstrate football techniques and engage in interactive games in the sports hall. Students had the rare opportunity to experience the charm of a world-class football star up close.
