EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) is a research learning certification program highly recommended by the UK Department for Education and the Higher Education Admissions Service (UCAS), which is a course that cultivates students' project research ability and obtains results through thesis and defense assessment.
EPQ requires students to choose a topic they are interested in for research study under the guidance of the teacher, and then summarize the learning process and research results into an English article of no more than 5000,1000 words, or an English article of 15,28 words plus a demonstrable project (for invention, creation, etc.), and finally conduct a 56-minute defense. After assessment, students who finally participate in the course will receive an EPQ certificate, a rating and a maximum UCAS credit force of <> credits, compared to <> credits for an A-level subject.

It is not easy to complete the EPQ program, and students need to have strong self-learning ability, academic research ability and time management ability. The participating Meilun students have made good arrangements for determining topics, searching for information, constantly polishing papers, CAIE international examinations, school examinations, language examinations and various academic competitions, and achieved remarkable results.
An Huiling, Class A2-1 of the UK Department, received an A* EPQ for her EPQ project "Investigate the overall impacts of the tourism industry on Hainan", which investigates the overall impact of tourism on Hainan.

"At that time, I signed up for EPQ because of the recommendation of many elders around me, but I always thought that writing a 5000,<>-word paper was something that could not be completed, but after half a year of energy and investment, I successfully did it." An Huiling said that this is not a terrible thing, EPQ can directly help me know the format and requirements of a formal college paper in advance, and also exercise her time balance ability in EPQ and coursework.
"Throughout the process, my teachers have been very serious in helping me, and their encouragement has given me a lot of confidence to have the courage to complete such a challenging project. I am very happy to have obtained an A* grade, and I thank EPQ for the help I received in further education. ”
Congratulations to all students who have achieved EPQ certification! Congratulations to students for earning UCAS credits and taking their research experience to the next level!
