At the beginning of the spring semester of 2025, Majestic International College held the Opening Ceremony for the second semester of the 2025 academic year on its campus. The entire school gathered to welcome the new semester.
Principal's speech
At the opening ceremony, Principal Simon first gave a speech about the new term. He sent New Year greetings to the teachers and students and reviewed the excellent achievements of the school in the last semester. He encouraged the students who had achieved excellent results last term to keep up the good work, and also hoped that those who had not yet improved their results would make good use of this term to catch up.
He emphasised that high school is an important stage in life and urged the students to value their time, plan carefully, think deeply, be confident and do their best. Principal Feng also shared his experience of interacting with Deep Seek AI software and summarised the key characteristics of international high school students, encouraging them to embrace technology and innovation to become their best selves.
Speech by the teacher representatives
Mrs Richnel from the BC School Division then spoke as the teacher representative. Recalling the theme of her speech two years ago, she emphasised the importance of the power of language, empathy and positive thinking in student development.
Ms Richnel encouraged students to embrace challenges, expand their knowledge and become well-rounded individuals. At the same time, she expressed her love for education and care for students, and encouraged teachers to be bold in trying new teaching methods in the new term to create brilliance together.
Speech of the student representative
Li Feiyang, an As-1 student from the UK Department, spoke as a student representative. He shared his learning experience in the autumn semester, where challenges and triumphs went hand in hand, and introduced students to effective learning methods, such as study skills.
Awards for outstanding individual students
During the opening ceremony, the school also presented awards to students who have excelled during the past term. The awards covered a wide range of areas such as academic achievement, study motivation, work in the Student Union, club activities and volunteering.
The UK Department's Academic Excellence Award recognises students who have achieved outstanding academic results, while the Principal's Honour Award and the BC Department's Honour Award recognise students who have excelled in their overall achievements.
There were also a number of other awards, such as the Student Council Officer Award, the Club Award and the Outstanding Volunteer Award, which demonstrated the excellence of Meridian International High School students.
The opening ceremony for the second term of the school year 2025 came to a successful conclusion. Teachers and students started the new term with a vision and expectation for the future. It is believed that in the new semester, teachers and students of MIC will continue to work hand in hand and write a brighter chapter together.
