On the evening of March 18th, an admissions officer from Yale University visited MIC and delivered an in-depth sharing session titled "Unlocking the Path to Yale" in the second-floor auditorium. The session revealed trends in various cutting-edge interdisciplinary fields and provided on-site guidance on how to build a unique application profile through summer school experiences.

During the presentation, Dr. Rencher first introduced the admissions policies and trends of U.S. universities, particularly emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary learning and major selection. She pointed out that top universities like Yale encourage students to explore a wide range of courses during their freshman year to discover the academic fields that truly suit them. Additionally, she highlighted the critical role of extracurricular activities, such as summer school programs, in enhancing application competitiveness.

Following this, Cui Xiwen, an outstanding MIC alumnus who graduated with a bachelors degree from the University of Cambridge, joined Dr. Rencher and other guests in a roundtable discussion. They delved into topics such as application essay strategies for both U.K. and U.S. universities, educational systems, and personalized pathways for university selection.

They unanimously agreed that, whether applying to U.K. or U.S. universities, maintaining authenticity in essays and showcasing personal interests and potential are crucial. They also encouraged students to choose educational systems and universities that align with their interests and needs.

Furthermore, Cui Xiwen shared her experiences of cross-cultural integration and personal growth. She discussed how cultural background, personal interests, and international exchange experiences shaped her identity and values, encouraging the students to bravely express themselves and actively pursue their dreams and goals.

This seminar received enthusiastic responses and high praise from students and parents alike. They expressed that the in-depth exchanges with the Yale admissions officer and the Cambridge graduate not only broadened their horizons but also clarified their goals and directions. They also hoped for more such opportunities in the future to better understand the entire study-abroad application process, laying a solid foundation for their academic and career development.

On the afternoon of March 20th, a dedicated session on studying in Germany was held in the fourth-floor MUN Model United Nations conference room. The event invited the official non-profit organization, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), to share application strategies for Germany's elite universities. Parents and students showed keen interest and engaged in lively discussions with the guidance team.
