At the beginning of 2026, all teachers and students of MIC (Majestic International College) gathered on campus for the grand opening ceremony themed "Embracing New Challenges, Embarking on an Excellence Journey." The ceremony began with a solemn flag-raising event, symbolizing the official launch of hope and mission for the new semester.
Amidst warm applause, Principal Feng Xiaosheng delivered an inspiring speech. Drawing on the Chinese zodiac Year of the Horse, he encouraged all teachers and students to move forward with the vigor and enterprising spirit of a galloping horse in the new year.
"I was born with talents that will surely be used."
Quoting Li Bai's timeless line, the principal encouraged every student to believe in their unique value—neither blindly following others nor dwelling on comparisons. Using historical figures such as Confucius, Su Shi, and Tu Youyou as examples, he vividly illustrated that "living out your own light" is the true meaning of success.
He concluded with a message to all students: "Be brave in being yourself, accept your imperfections, explore your potential, water your dreams with sweat, and prove your worth through action."
Teacher Jing Xu from the UK Department, a graduate of Imperial College London, used the mathematical symbol "∞" as a starting point to share the philosophical relationship between the "infinite" and the "infinitesimal."
"Just like 'dx' in calculus—every seemingly insignificant step forward can eventually accumulate into visible results." Ms. Xu encouraged students not to underestimate any single effort. Even if no change is visible in the moment, as long as they keep moving forward, they will eventually converge into a vast world of their own.
Borrowing a classic line from Zootopia, she shared this message with new students:
"At MIC, no matter what kind of 'little animal' you feel like right now, as long as you are willing to accumulate each small 'dx,' that future called '∞' will unfold—step by step—beneath your feet."
Student representative Una's speech was sincere and touching. She shared her journey from confusion to clarity, admitting that she once hesitated due to uncertainty—but gradually came to understand that the key to growth lies not in perfecting every step, but in continuously trying, reflecting, and moving forward.
"Make the decisions you believe are right, stand firm, and trust in your own thoughts."
She encouraged her fellow students to bravely make choices they believe in, without fear of failure—because every fall is a necessary step on the path to success.
Finally, she extended her best wishes to the Grade 12 students, hoping they would receive offers from their dream universities, and wished all students a fulfilling and successful new semester.

The recognition of Outstanding Student Cadres and Rising Leaders highlighted the growth of student leadership and self-governance.
In academics, the school presented Third-Class, Second-Class, and First-Class Honours Awards, along with the Principal's Honor Award, celebrating students who pursued excellence with dedication. The Moral Education Award was given to students who excelled in community service, arts, music, and sports—reflecting the school's commitment to holistic education.
Every name announced was a testament to hard work; every round of applause was a wish for the future.
