In the field of business, MIC students have demonstrated comprehensive abilities ranging from theory to practice.
In the Wharton Global High School Investment Competition, the "Moneycoming" team (Majory Ma, Chloe Liu) won the Strategic Insight Award, while the "DUSAC" team (Doris Men, Una Tan, Ashley Liu, Candice Yu, Selina Liu) claimed the Portfolio Performance Award. This globally top-tier competition, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School (ranked No. 1 for undergraduate business programs by U.S. News), requires students to manage a $100,000 virtual portfolio over 10 weeks, trading across 11 sectors and over 400 stocks. The judging criteria focus not merely on investment returns but on the comprehensive performance of investment strategies, risk control capabilities, and team collaboration. Winning such an award means that our students have mastered university-level knowledge in economics, finance, risk management, corporate finance, and strategic analysis, while honing core competencies essential for future business leaders.
This business acumen is also reflected in the BPA Business Competition. Candice Yu, as team captain, led her team to win the Silver Award in the China region (CBPA). With over 50 years of history, BPA is one of the three major high school business competitions in the United States, alongside FBLA and DECA. It is officially certified by the U.S. Department of Education and the Career and Technical Student Organizations, and is recommended by the National Association of Secondary School Principals. From Wharton to BPA, Candice Yu has continuously distinguished herself in two major international business competitions, demonstrating solid business thinking and leadership.
In the ASDAN HCBC Harvard Business Plan Challenge, Lun Haokun and Tan Xianyou successfully advanced to the global finals with an outstanding business plan, achieving a promotion rate of only about 20%. They will compete with outstanding students from around the world at Harvard University. From simulated investment to practical planning, the business talents of MIC students continue to shine on different stages.
In the field of scientific research, MIC students have also delivered impressive results.
In the ASDAN EPQ research program, Chen Rui and He Junwei both achieved an A grade, earning 24 UCAS points each (equivalent to half an A-Level subject). This UK nationally recognized Level 3 qualification requires completing a 5,000-word academic paper and serves as an authoritative certification of students' research capabilities and academic literacy.
This research aptitude extends to the field of psychology. Zhong Jingtong won the Bronze Award in the Psychological Experiment Challenge at the national round of the BPO British Psychology Olympiad and earned a place at the Oxford Psychology Summer School. As the first student from our school to participate in and win a psychology competition, she will have the opportunity to stay at Oxford's Pembroke College and immerse herself in the experience of "studying at Oxford" under the guidance of Oxford and Cambridge tutors. From EPQ research training to psychological exploration, Zhong Jingtong's growth trajectory vividly illustrates MIC's encouragement of interdisciplinary development.

The social science research "An Analysis of the Cross-Cultural Narrative Construction and Communication Strategy of 'The Destined One' in <Black Myth: Wukong>" by Candice Yu and her team won the Third Class Honor at the CTB Global Youth Innovation Research Forum.
Originating from Harvard University's traditional research project showcase "Harvard Thinks Big," CTB is one of the world's most influential cross-disciplinary challenge platforms for Chinese youth. The global forum jury consists of professors from world-renowned institutions, Nobel laureates, Pulitzer Prize winners, and experts from various fields. Outstanding academic result can be included in the Harvard YSA Academic Journal, providing strong academic proof for university applications. From the BPA business competition to CTB social science research, Candice Yu seamlessly navigates between different disciplines, demonstrating the academic potential of MIC students for cross-disciplinary integration.
Meanwhile, thanks to the efforts of nine students—Luo Yi, Chen Kaiyin, Wu Manqi, Chen Junyu, Jiang Borui, Zhu Yalin, Shao Jingwen, Luo Ruijun, and Liang Chuxin—our school's PBL project-based learning achievements received official recognition from Harvard CTB, granting MIC the title of "Partner School." This is an international-level certification of our innovative educational model!
This innovative spirit also shines in the field of artificial intelligence. Sophia Tan won the Silver Medal at the Asia-Pacific Youth Artificial Intelligence Innovation Competition Finals. Held at the National University of Singapore, the competition attracted nearly a thousand outstanding young participants from China, Japan, South Korea, and ASEAN countries. The AI algorithm challenge required participants to solve complex logical problems by writing efficient code within a time limit, testing programming fundamentals, mathematical thinking, and on-the-spot adaptability.
