To effectively enhance the safety awareness of all teachers and students and improve their ability to escape in response to sudden disasters, MIC (Majestic International College) conducted a campus-wide fire and earthquake drill on the afternoon of March 11, 2026.
The drill covered three key components: an earthquake drill in the teaching area, a fire drill in the dormitory area, and practical training on using fire extinguishers. The entire process was well-organized and executed promptly, achieving the desired outcomes.
Before the drill, homeroom teachers organized thematic safety education sessions on fire and earthquake prevention. They explained emergency knowledge, evacuation routes, and precautions to students, ensuring that every teacher and student understood the drill procedures and key points for self-protection. This preliminary knowledge laid a solid foundation for the subsequent practical drill.
At 4:40 p.m., the earthquake drill in the teaching area officially began with the first long alarm sound. All teachers and students immediately entered emergency mode, quickly crouching under or beside their desks with their heads protected for one minute of emergency.
Subsequently, three short alarm sounds signaled the evacuation. Homeroom teachers led their students along predetermined routes, evacuating the teaching building quickly and orderly to the safe assembly area on the football field.
Teachers were stationed at stairwell entrances on each floor to guide the flow of people and prevent crowding and trampling. Upon reaching the assembly point, each class counted heads and reported the numbers level by level, ensuring no one was left behind. The entire evacuation process was intense yet orderly, demonstrating the excellent emergency response capabilities of both teachers and students.
After the evacuation drill, the school organized hands-on training on using fire extinguishers on the football field. Security personnel explained the methods and precautions of fire extinguishers on-site and demonstrated the operational steps.
Some students and teacher representatives personally operated the extinguishers, experiencing the process of "lift, pull, hold, and press" to effectively learn skills.
Following the drill, Vice Principal He Yaling pointed out in her summary that safety is the cornerstone of school work. The drill was not only a test of the emergency response plan but also a comprehensive enhancement of teachers' and students' safety awareness and emergency response capabilities. She emphasized that all teachers and students should take this drill as an opportunity to remain vigilant at all times, internalize safety knowledge, and externalize it in their actions, jointly strengthening the campus safety.
This fire and earthquake evacuation drill not only enhanced the safety awareness of teachers and students but also improved the school's organizational and coordination skills in responding to emergencies. MIC will continue to uphold the principle of "safety first, prevention foremost," and regularly conduct safety education and emergency drills, striving unremittingly to create a safe and harmonious campus.
