Role: Student Sports Leader & Activities Coordinator
Interviewer: Rasa

Rasa: Can you explain your role as Student Sports Leader & Activities Coordinator?

Cassie:
My main job is to plan school sports events, like campus leagues and tournaments, and coordinate the event schedules to avoid conflicts. I help the sports teams by coordinating school competitions and assisting in the communication between the school, coaches, and players. I think this role is super important 'cause it keeps the sports activities running smoothly, allows the athletes to focus on the games instead of trivial stuff, and at the same time, it can boost the school's cohesion.

Rasa: What motivates you to take this leadership role?

Cassie:
I really love helping my classmates. You know, when I see my teammates overcoming difficulties, like a new team member mastering a new skill or everyone making progress, I just feel an incredibly strong sense of accomplishment. I truly value school activities and sports. It's not just about winning. They can actually teach us perseverance and how to work well with others. I'm absolutely enthusiastic about team spirit and campus culture because they have this amazing power to bring independent individuals together and form a big, warm family.

Rasa: How do you keep all sports teams organised and informed?

Cassie:
We have a WeChat group for all the team captains, and each team has a shared group chat to post schedules and latest notifications, ensuring that everyone can get the information in real time. If there are any changes in the plan (such as rescheduling due to rain or changing the venue), I will first contact the captains in the captain group to quickly disseminate the information.

Rasa: What has been the most rewarding moment in this role?

Cassie:
There are many things that make me proud. For instance, when we finished the competition, the teachers and the principal said we did an excellent job. The students were very happy after participating, and they had a strong sense of participationand so on. For example, the new student party at the beginning of the semester, the booth we prepared for the Mid-Autumn Festival department, and the decoration for Halloween were all very successful! During this period, every coordination, every meeting, and the collision of everyone's ideas all made me see the team spirit, and I also saw everyone's progress in every activity.

Rasa: How do you encourage students to attend training and activities?

Cassie:
I think it's more about the emotional value. And I believe that the students in our school are very active in participating in activities and training. During regular competitions, we offer prizes, and for some activities, there are usually small gifts. During the competitions, we generally encourage the students. Because I think progress is more important than winning the championship.

Rasa: How do you balance school, sports, and leadership duties?

Cassie:
I will mark every activity, exam, deadline, etc. in my diary... Since I am first a student and then a club leader, I will ensure the completion of my study tasks first, while at the same time participating in the school activities during my spare time. Moreover, other classmates in our department also work together to divide the tasks, so that no one has to bear all the pressure alone.

Rasa: What advice do you have for future student leaders?

Cassie:
First of all, have confidence in your own ideas - even small ones can make an impact. Secondly, focus on three core qualities: taking responsibility for mistakes (not shirking blame), valuing cooperation (no one can accomplish everything alone), and learning to listen during communication (not just talking yourself). The most important thing is to believe in yourself - you don't need to be perfect, just be willing to help others and give your all.

 Closing Note:

Cassie’s leadership reflects the spirit of Majestic International College — where students are encouraged to grow, take initiative, and support one another. At MIC, we are proud to see young leaders like her shaping our school community and preparing to become the confident, responsible, and inspiring leaders of tomorrow.
